Meet Marilyn
Hi, I’m Marilyn.
I’m a mindset, confidence, and wealth coach, speaker, and founder of Building Yourself 360. A personal development brand created to help women rebuild themselves from the inside out.
But before any of those titles…
I was simply a woman trying to figure life out.
I became a mother at sixteen. I experienced heartbreak, divorce, financial hardship, burnout, and seasons where I questioned my own worth. I lost my brother at a young age, survived an abusive relationship, declared bankruptcy, had a car repossessed, and spent years believing that success belonged to everyone except me.
For a long time, I was the people pleaser. The woman who poured into everyone else while slowly emptying herself. The woman who smiled on the outside while quietly struggling on the inside.
Everything changed when I made a decision. To start building myself. Not just financially. Not just professionally. But mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
I became obsessed with learning about mindset, leadership, confidence, emotional intelligence, personal growth, and financial wellness. I spend years reading, studying, leading teams, coaching people, and most importantly, applying those lessons to my own life.
Today, I have over 15 years of leadership experience, have spent more than a decade serving communities through nonprofit leadership, and have coached and mentored countless individuals through life transitions, personal growth, and confidence-building. More importantly, I know what it feels like to start over. That’s why I created Building Yourself 36.
I believe lasting transformation doesn’t happen by fixing one area of your life. It happens when you intentionally build every part of yourself. Your mindset, your confidence, your relationship with money, your habits, your purpose, your leadership, your peace.
My mission is simple:
To help women stop settling for survival and start creating lives they genuinely love waking up to. Whether I’m coaching a client, speaking on a stage, writing, recording a podcast, or creating resources for women, my goal is always the same: To remind you that your past does not determine your future. Your not behind, you are not broken. You are becoming.

One of the greatest privileges of my work is creating spaces where meaningful conversations can happen. At a Juneteenth celebration, I performed my original spoken word piece, Softness Is Also Freedom, exploring the intersection of culture, healing, confidence, leadership, and intentional living. It is a message that reflects the heart of Building Yourself 360: living with purpose, leading with authenticity, and choosing peace.
